Please Help: Mom's/Auntie Dulia's Sister Auntie Gilda is in ICU

Here's a photo of the Madridejos fam taken in the Philippines last time we visited in 2008. Auntie Gilda is sitting in the chair surrounded by her brothers and sisters being silly Madridejos-style.

Two days ago, Auntie Gilda went to sleep but never woke up due to seizures caused by possible lack of sodium. Her daughters who live with her found her unconscious in the morning and took her to the hospital where she is currently in the Intensive Care Unit.

Today, I got an instant message from our cousin Maida telling me the sad news. She asks for our prayers and assistance with medical expenses. Based on Auntie Gilda's husband's medical expenses (who died in April 2010), we estimate we will need to raise 65,000 pesos or $1,500 USD.

Please consider giving what you can to help. Auntie Gilda has 3 daughters and a few grandchildren... all of which are living on a tight budget. For example, one of the daughters, makes $250/mo. working for a major corporation.

I'll collect the money donated through this ChipIn via my PayPal account and send a check to Auntie Marita, who will wire money to the family, as she and Mom have been doing on a regular basis for the past few years. (They are trying to help put one of the daughters through nursing school.)

Anyway, please do what you can to help. The Madridejos/Averia family, especially Auntie Gilda needs our support and prayers right now. Mom and Auntie Marita also send their thanks for your prayers and concern.

Love,
Tina
